"Once we've got in front we hadn't lost this season and the way the game went you'd have backed us to get a clean sheet," said Jones.
"It was absolutely heart-breaking to concede the two goals but we can take some positives out of the way we played.
"I'm really disappointed for everyone, including the fans. It was disappointing all round.
"Now we've got another important game on Wednesday, so we have to get over this, then kick-on and prepare for Tottenham.
"Hopefully we can start turning some of these performances where we feel unlucky, into wins.
"We have competed against teams and picked up points where we weren't expected.
"With this system we have played we could have picked up two wins in two away games.
"Hopefully we can put on another good performance against Tottenham but without the errors."
Tied into the recently changed formation has been the form of Kevin Doyle as a lone frontman.
The Irish international notched his sixth goal of the campaign and has performed admirably in holding the ball up and keeping Wolves moving.
