Born in Guadeloupe, one of France's overseas regions, Ronald Zubar started his career with Caen in the second division,  making 96 appearances and scoring two goals and helping the team earn promotion to 'Ligue One' 2004.

His performances attracted interest from top flight clubs from several countries, but he opted to stay in France and sign for Marseille in 2006.

His three seasons with the top flight club included gaining experience in the Champions League, including two narrow defeats to Liverpool in the 2008/09 competition.

He became Wolves sixth signing of the summer of 2009 and fourth in a week when putting pen to paper on a four year contract in the first week of July.

Joining for an undisclosed fee, the French under-21 international quickly joined up with the squad on their pre-season tour of Australia.

It took Zubar time to settle into the challenges of the English game, but after appearing in the Carling Cup tie with Swindon made an impressive Premier League debut at Everton in October, 2009.

Having established himself in the team he then picked up an injury in training, but returned to fitness to score a spectacular first goal for Wolves in the FA Cup Fourth Round tie with Crystal Palace in January, 2010.

Zubar went on to become a mainstay from there onwards, making the right back spot his own with a string of impressive displays as well as chipping in with an excellent first league goal on the night Wolves went a long way to securing survival by beating West Ham at Upton Park.
