Marcus Hahnemann was born in Seattle and he played for Seattle Sounders and Colorado Rapids before moving to England to join Fulham in 1999.

During his time at Craven Cottage he was loaned out to Rochdale and then Reading for whom he signed on a permanent basis in 2001.

He played one game shy of 300 for the Royals and was an ever present in both of their campaigns in the Premier League between 2006 and 2008.

He became an impressive addition to the already quality-filled goalkeeping department at Molineux in the summer of 2009, signing a one year deal with an option for extension.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, he has been capped seven times by the United States.

Hahnemann initially occupied bench duties after arriving at Wolves before winning a place in the team in November, 2009 and making an impressive initial impact in the Molineux goal.

Keeping his place in the side, he played the final 25 Barclays Premier League fixtures of the campaign, whilst also appearing twice in the Carling Cup.

That was enough, along with Wolves' survival, to kick in a clause in his contract which extended Hahnemann's Molineux stay by a further year.
